Our motorcycle expeditions go beyond the average guided tour or training session!
We design our motorcycle expeditions to empower ADV enthusiasts with appropriate knowledge and skills, while enjoying great adventurous routes.
With Backcountry Expeditions you’ll complete the route or skills package of your choice while becoming a more proficient, confident and knowledgeable ADV rider.
Rides are designed to enable full completion of select Backcountry Discovery Routes® with all of the planning, coordination and support taken care of for you!
Each ride is designed as a small team expedition. As a member of the team you’ll get unlimited pre-ride consultation to ensure you gain the experience of a lifetime. We’ll cover everything; from what and how to pack before you meet with the team, what we will be providing for you, to a full rundown of the expedition itinerary.
Safety is paramount. As such, full support is on hand should it be needed throughout the expedition. Each rider is equipped with a personal locator beacon to ensure the most remote and unlikely incident can be dealt with safely and easily. We ensure your wellbeing and successful completion of the route.
We are proud partners and supporters of the Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR) non-profit organization that created many of the routes we offer to our clients. Their tireless efforts to develop world class adventurous backcountry routes throughout the US provides an incredible opportunity for all ADV riders seeking a fun, challenging and rewarding experience. For more information about the BDR® organization, visit www.RideBDR.com.
As ambassadors in support of their mission, we offer all-inclusive expeditionary packages for those seeking to complete any of the BDR® routes. We take care of all planning and logistics, leaving you free to enjoy and complete any of the routes with success guaranteed. Our limited group sizes allow us to mentor each participant's riding skills and provide helpful advice; your riding will improve during your time with us!
We have a range of 800cc to 1200cc adventure motorcycles for you to choose from, all equipped with luggage and a GPS with the route pre-loaded. All motorcycles are fully insured so you can relax and enjoy the adventure without the worry of expensive damage on any of the more technical sections. Our support crew carry additional motorcycles to ensure technical issues will not spoil the planned ride.
We have four packages for you to choose from to match your level of riding proficiency and ADV ambition. Our Basic and Advanced Skills Packages are designed to provide instruction and mentoring to take your riding to the next level. All expeditions can be completed with maximum backcountry camping with our Adventure Package, or with more comfortable and relaxing hotel accommodation with the Executive Package.
All expeditions are designed to provide a balance of trail riding fun, sight seeing and backcountry camping, all with intermittent respite in the comfort of hotels along the way.
Our instructors have real world experience riding large CC motorcycles through difficult (and even hostile) terrain around the globe. Our aim is to impart our collective knowledge and experience to our clients, whether you select a specific route or one of our skills packages.
You’ll learn many useful skills in addition to having your riding closely mentored. This approach generates confidence and knowledge that will enable you to safely conduct your own expeditions in the future.
Our extensive expeditionary experience allow us to tailor packages for our client’s specific requirements. We’ll cover your needs during an initial consultation call to ensure your experience meets with your ADV goals.
In addition to riding the expedition as a team member, you will learn:
